- Previous to his NBA Career, Brian Shaw played for the USA Basketball national team that won the Gold Medan in the 1986 FIBA World Championship.
- Brian Shaw arrived to the Lakers for the 1999-00 season and was a member of the Three-peat. He had previously played with Shaquille O'Neal in Orlando where the reached the NBA Finals in 1995.
- On April 8, 1993, playing for the Heat against the Milwaukee Bucks, Shaw made a then-NBA record 10 three-pointers (in 15 attempts).
- In game 7 of the 2000 Western Finals series against the Trail Blazers, (one of the NBA's all-time classic games), Brian Shaw made three crucial 3-pointers that helped L.A. recover from a 15-point deficit on their way to the first Championship in 12 years.
