- Inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1988.
- Won NBA titles with both arch-enemys Lakers and Celtics. In 1962-63 he won it with Boston playing the Finals against Los Angeles.
- Lovellette became the first basketball player in history to win an NCAA Championship (1952), an Olympic Gold Medal (Helsinki 1952) and an NBA Title.
- In 2002, during halftime of a Lakers-Timberwolves game, the pioneer Minneapolis players Vern Mikkelsen, George Mikan, Slater Martin, Clyde Lovellette, Coach John Kundla and Arlee Pollard (widow of Jim Pollard) were presented with championship rings, the same provided by the NBA to the Los Angeles Lakers championship players that same year. |
