May 14 - Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were just too much and the Thunder destroyed the Lakers 119-90.

Westbrook had 27 points scoring whenever he wanted, to go with his 7 rebounds and 9 assists while Durant, the NBA scoring leader, added 25 points and 8 rebounds and none of them even played in the fourth quarter since the Thunder took a 15-point lead to the halftime break and then outscored the Lakers 39-24 in the third quarter. With 54 seconds left in the period James Harden made 2 free throws to put Oklahoma ahead by 35 points.

Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum had 20 points each (Bynum added 14 rebounds) but the Lakers couldn't match the energy and explosiveness of Oklahoma's young players and looked tired after playing game 7 of their first round series 48 hours before while the Thunder, who committed just 4 turnovers had 7 days of rest.

James Harden received the Sixth Man of the Year trophy before the game. He scored 17 points. His teammate starting center Kendrick Perkins limped off after aggravating a hip injury from the first round.

The Quotes

Kobe Bryant (Lakers): "Obviously, they're more well-rested than we are but I don't think it made that much of a difference for us. We could have had the same amount of days off. They're just younger and faster. And tonight, what you saw is them executing extremely well

Scott Brooks (Thunder Coach): "I think that's huge. Four (turnovers)...we've had that the first 6 minutes of games at times." ... "It's the first team to four wins that wins this series. Come Wednesday night, regardless of if you won by one or 20, it doesn't have no impact on Wednesday night."

"We have to come back with the same energy, and we know that the Lakers are going to play much better.

Kevin Durant (Thunder): "I'm always saying, `We can't get too high and we can't get too low.' ... You know those guys are going to come out and play extremely hard."
