Here you have the information about the 1950 NBA Playoffs and the path the Los Angeles Lakers took to win a new championship.
The league had 17 teams in 1950 and the best 12 (4 from each Division) competed in a traditional playoff format with their division rivals. Then things became a little complex being 3 Division winners. The Syracuse Nationals went straight to the Finals because they had been the best of the 3 in the regular season. The Lakers and the now extinct Anderson Packers had to play an NBA Semifinal series to decide the other finalist.
